We took a call at 00:50 from a hire car company representative advising a 2018 Range Rover Vogue had been stolen from one of their clients in South West London SW17. The client was alerted after he received an SMS alert from the Land Rover OEM tracker (which then went dead). We immediately reviewed the additionally installed covert Automatrics MTrack tracking data to see the vehicle had been stolen at 00.27 and moved a few hundred metres to an identical cooling off location to where a previous stolen Range Rover had been successfully located by Automatrics on the 12th Oct 2021. Both thefts were from the same end user. Met Police were on scene within 20 minutes but by then the vehicle was no longer at that location.

We continued to monitor our tracker systems, liaising directly with police officers. We gained another live feed showing the stolen Range Rover at a second location at 04:36 some 600 metres down the road. We were advised that the Met Police were already in attendance after trawling through close by hot recovery spots in the early hours to discover the car. The Police arranged for a forensic lift to help with their enquires and we tracked the car safely back for their onward investigations.

Range Rover Theft in London remains at very high levels and covert theft recovery tracking systems from Automatrics once again demonstrate the importance of Range Rover owners selecting proficient security partners.
